tena nārāyaṇo nāma

eko nānātvam anvicchan
yoga-talpāt samutthitaḥ |
vīryaṃ hiraṇ-mayaṃ devo

adhi-daivam athādhy-ātmam

antaḥ śarīra ākāśāt

ojaḥ saho balaṃ jajñe

anu prāṇanti yaṃ prāṇāḥ

apānantam apānanti

pipāsato jakṣataś ca

mukhatas tālu nirbhinnaṃ

tato nānā-raso jajñe

vivakṣor mukhato bhūmno
vahnir vāg vyāhṛtaṃ tayoḥ |
jale caitasya suciraṃ
nirodhaḥ samajāyata ||2.10.19||
nāsike nirabhidyetāṃ
dodhūyati nabhasvati |
tatra vāyur gandha-vaho
ghrāṇo nasi jighṛkṣataḥ ||2.10.20||
yadātmani nirālokam
ātmānaṃ ca didṛkṣataḥ |
nirbhinne hy akṣiṇī tasya
jyotiś cakṣur guṇa-grahaḥ ||2.10.21||
bodhyamānasya ṛṣibhir
ātmanas taj jighṛkṣataḥ |
karṇau ca nirabhidyetāṃ
diśaḥ śrotraṃ guṇa-grahaḥ ||2.10.22||
vastuno mṛdu-kāṭhinya-
laghu-gurv-oṣṇa-śītatām |
jighṛkṣatas tvaṅ nirbhinnā
tasyāṃ roma-mahī-ruhāḥ |
tatra cāntar bahir vātas
tvacā labdha-guṇo vṛtaḥ ||2.10.23||
hastau ruruhatus tasya
nānā-karma-cikīrṣayā |
tayos tu balavān indra

gatiṃ jigīṣataḥ pādau
ruruhāte ’bhikāmikām |
padbhyāṃ yajñaḥ svayaṃ havyaṃ

nirabhidyata śiśno vai
prajānandāmṛtārthinaḥ |
upastha āsīt kāmānāṃ

utsisṛkṣor dhātu-malaṃ
nirabhidyata vai gudam |
tataḥ pāyus tato mitra

āsisṛpsoḥ puraḥ puryā
nābhi-dvāram apānataḥ |
tatrāpānas tato mṛtyuḥ

āditsor anna-pānānām
āsan kukṣy-antra-nāḍayaḥ |
nadyaḥ samudrāś ca tayos
tuṣṭiḥ puṣṭis tad-āśraye ||2.10.29||
nididhyāsor ātma-māyāṃ
hṛdayaṃ nirabhidyata |
tato manaś candra iti

tvak-carma-māṃsa-rudhira-
medo-majjāsthi-dhātavaḥ |
bhūmy-ap-tejo-mayāḥ

bhūtādi-prabhavā guṇāḥ |
manaḥ sarva-vikārātmā

anādi-madhya-nidhanaṃ

ubhe api na gṛhṇanti

sa vācya-vācakatayā

kuśalākuśalā miśrāḥ

sattvaṃ rajas tama iti
tisraḥ sura-nṛ-nārakāḥ |
tatrāpy ekaikaśo rājan
bhidyante gatayas tridhā |
yadaikaikataro 'nyābhyāṃ
svabhāva upahanyate ||2.10.41||
sa evedaṃ jagad-dhātā
bhagavān dharma-rūpa-dhṛk |
puṣṇāti sthāpayan viśvaṃ
tiryaṅ-nara-surādibhiḥ ||2.10.42||
tataḥ kālāgni-rudrātmā yat
sṛṣṭam idam ātmanaḥ |
sanniyacchati tat kāle
ghanānīkam ivānilaḥ ||2.10.43||
ittham-bhāvena kathito
bhagavān bhagavat-tamaḥ |
nettham-bhāvena hi paraṃ
draṣṭum arhanti sūrayaḥ ||2.10.44||
nāsya karmaṇi janmādau
parasyānuvidhīyate |
kartṛtva-pratiṣedhārthaṃ
māyayāropitaṃ hi tat ||2.10.45||
ayaṃ tu brahmaṇaḥ kalpaḥ
sa-vikalpa udāhṛtaḥ |
vidhiḥ sādhāraṇo yatra
sargāḥ prākṛta-vaikṛtāḥ ||2.10.46||
parimāṇaṃ ca kālasya
kalpa-lakṣaṇa-vigraham |
yathā purastād vyākhyāsye
pādmaṃ kalpam atho śṛṇu ||2.10.47||

yad āha no bhavān sūta
kṣattā bhāgavatottamaḥ |
cacāra tīrthāni bhuvas
tyaktvā bandhūn sudustyajān ||2.10.48||
kṣattuḥ kauśāraves tasya
saṃvādo 'dhyātma-saṃśritaḥ |
yad vā sa bhagavāṃs tasmai
pṛṣṭas tattvam uvāca ha ||2.10.49||
brūhi nas tad idaṃ saumya
vidurasya viceṣṭitam |
bandhu-tyāga-nimittaṃ ca
yathaivāgatavān punaḥ ||2.10.50||
sūta uvāca
rājñā parīkṣitā pṛṣṭo
yad avocan mahā-muniḥ |
tad vo ’bhidhāsye śṛṇuta
rājñaḥ praśnānusārataḥ ||2.10.51||
