Streszczenie rozdziału:
1-5 Arjuna nie wraca z Dwaraki, Judhiṣṭhira dostrzega złe omeny:
- odwrócenie kolejności pór roku,
- grzeszne sposoby utrzymania się ludzi,
- psucie się relacji i zanik prawości.
6-21 Judhiṣṭhira opisuje złe omeny Bhimie i zastanawia się, czy nie nadszedł czas, o którym mówił Nārada – lista omenów zwiastujących śmierć.
22-38 Arjuna wraca z podróży, Judhiṣṭhira pyta o pomyślność przyjaciół – lista członków rodziny Kryszny, opis ich szczęścia.
39-44 Judhiṣṭhira docieka powódu przygnębienia Ardźuny – lista możliwych przyczyn:
- choroba,
- brak okazanego szacunku przez innych,
- nieobdarowanie osoby godnej,
- niespełnienie swej obietnicy,
- niezapewnienie opieki słabszym,
- niewłaściwy kontakt seksualny,
- pokonanie przez osobę słabszą,
- zjedzenie posiłku przed głodnymi,
- utrata przyjaciela.
